For those who attended last weekend’s min-workshop at the park, there will be another workshop this Saturday, February 27 where you can learn more about boiling and finishing the sap to turn it into syrup.
Come to the sugar shack at noon (rain or shine) and don’t forget to dress appropriately. Sugaring Season is also known as Mud Season at our world starts to thaw out and ready itself for Spring.
Masks & Social Distancing are required, previous knowledge of sugaring is not. If you really want to know more about sugaring at home, learning at the park is one way to do it. Like knowing you need a 5/16″ drill bit to tap a tree and insert the 5/16″ spout to attach the bucket to. For more detailed explanations there are many books out there and a great resource for all the Connecticut sugarmakers is ctmaple.org
